Immigration Law

Califf & Harper, P.C., provides immigration law services to businesses and individuals. We assist in obtaining employment-based and family-based permanent residence (green cards). We also assist in temporary business visas (e.g., H1B temporary workers in a specialty occupation, L1 intra-company transferees, O-1 Visas for aliens of extraordinary ability, etc.).

We represent employers in establishing policies for compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), in training human resources professionals on Form I-9 compliance, and in conducting mock I-9 audits.

In addition, the firm represents clients in removal and deportation proceedings in U.S. Immigration Courts and in appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals. Because immigration law is federal, we are able to submit petitions and applications to the appropriate federal agency or USCIS service center across the country.

We can provide legal representation in areas including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Temporary Work Visas
  • Adjustment of Status
  • Family-Based Immigration
  • Employment-Based Immigration
  • Deportation/Removal Proceedings
  • Application for Cancellation of Removal (for Permanent Residents and for Non-Permanent Residents)
  • Waivers (including I-601 waivers through the Ciudad Juarez Consulate)
  • U Visas for Victims of Certain Crimes
  • Immigration Appeals to the AAO and the BIA
  • Appeals in the Federal Courts
  • Naturalization
  • Derivative and Acquired U.S. Citizenship
  • Establishing IRCA Compliance Policies for Employers
