Illinois Open Meetings Act Important Information


Effective January 1, 2012, if you are an elected or appointed member of a public body which is subject to the Open Meetings Act, then you must complete electronic training as follows:
 
  • If you were elected or appointed as a member of a public body on January 1, 2012, then you must complete the electronic training between January 1, 2012 and January 1, 2013.
  • If you were elected or appointed as a member of a public body after January 1, 2012, then you must complete the electronic training no later than ninety (90) days after taking office or assuming responsibilities as a member of the public body.
 
If you have not yet completed the electronic training, then you must do by January 1, 2013.
